The Transparency Platform is Europe’s central source of electricity market data, but users have long complained about its quality. For the European Commission’s DG Energy, in a Deloitte-led consortium with VVA and Copenhagen Economics, we assessed the quality of the data published by European transmission system operators along dimensions such as completeness and accuracy. We found substantial gaps — only one third of countries report a complete load time series — as well as inconsistencies with other data sources, and derived recommendations for improvement. An article based on this study appeared in Applied Energy.
